As part of the extension of the Johannes Helm School in Schwabach, Hero Fire was involved in the fire-resistant glazing of the atrium in the new building.

Approximately 270 m² of EI30 and EI90 fire protection glass was installed as glass-to-glass structural glazing with flush butt joints. The frameless design creates a calm, continuous glass surface with a high level of transparency and generous daylight penetration. Partly stepped glazing and 90-degree corners emphasise the clear architectural lines and the modern character of the new building.

The construction project included the refurbishment of the existing school building (approx. 1.650 m²) and an extension of around 4.720 m². The result is a modern five-stream primary school with all-day facilities, cafeteria, administration and workshop areas, as well as a double sports hall with a mobile retractable grandstand.

In an exquisite private villa in Blankenese, we recently installed 30 square meters of ConverLight® triple insulating glass with a remarkably low U-value. In addition to outstanding thermal insulation, ConverLight® offers intelligent solar shading for maximum comfort. With the help of intelligent control via a light sensor, it ensures optimum light transmission while protecting against unwanted heat.

Long story short: it ensures a conservatory that is perfectly air-conditioned all year round without sacrificing natural light.

Every detail has been carefully planned and implemented with a high demand on the visual quality of the glass. For an appealing aesthetic that is seamlessly integrated into the architectural vision of the villa.

Hero-Fire® El 30 as well as Hero-Fire® El 90 glasses were used in the new building of the Fraunhofer Institute in Kassel.

Our El 30 fire protection glass with integrated fall protection and increased noise protection was installed in a Wicstyle 77 FP frame system on several floors of over 100 m².

To protect the stairwell from flames and smoke in the event of a fire and thus provide employees with a safe escape route, El 90 fire-resistant glass was also used in the doors. With these glass solutions in impressive dimensions, up to 1495 x 2885 mm, we have combined innovation and safety.

Zurich Airport, which opened in November 2020 as a service centre, houses a variety of shops, offices, hotels, restaurants and a congress and health centre. In such a project, two keywords are central for us: aesthetics and safety. On the one hand, we developed doors and partition walls for this purpose, which elegantly separate the multi-storey car park from the office building by means of frameless glazing with a seamless glass-to-glass butt joint.

Together with our customer GLASTECH Fire GmbH, a total of around 125 m² of Hero-Fire El 30 glass was installed, which is not only smoke- and flame-proof and complies with strict temperature limits on the side facing away from the fire, but also offers special protection against burglary. Another 52 m² of Hero-Fire El 30 provide additional safety by being fall-proof and exceptionally sound-insulating.
